On January 1, 1956, in accordance with Resolution No. 1558 of the Council of Ministers of the USSR dated August 24, 1955, “On Measures to Improve the Work of Design Organizations,” the Uzbek Branch of the “Giproselenergo” Institute was established on the basis of the electrification department of the “Uzgiprovodkhoz” Institute under the Ministry of Urban and Rural Construction of the USSR.

By Resolution No. 178-r of the Council of Ministers of the USSR dated January 31, 1964, the institute was transferred to the All-Union Research and Design Institute “Selelektro.” Following an order of the USSR Ministry of Energy, branches were established as integrated design departments in Ashgabat, Frunze, and Dushanbe. Based on these branches, independent republican institutes were established in Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan between 1989 and 1991.

On September 17, 1969, pursuant to Order No. 111a of the USSR Ministry of Energy and Electrification dated August 25, 1969, the institute was renamed the Central Asian Branch of the All-Union State Research, Survey, and Design Institute “Selenergoproekt.”

By decision of the Executive Committee of the Hamza District Council of People's Deputies of Tashkent dated October 3, 1991, the Central Asian Branch of “Selenergoproekt” was reorganized into the Lease Enterprise Central Asian Research, Design, Survey and Engineering-Technological Institute “Sredazselenergoproekt.”

By Resolution No. 471 of the Cabinet of Ministers under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 13, 1992, “Sredazselenergoproekt,” previously subordinated to the USSR Ministry of Energy, was incorporated into the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

By decision of the Khokimiyat of Hamza District of Tashkent dated September 28, 1998, the institute was renamed the Lease Enterprise Design and Survey Institute “Uzselenergoloyiha.”

On September 12, 2002, pursuant to Order No. 153k-PO of the State Property Committee dated June 13, 2002, the institute was transformed into the Open Joint-Stock Company “Qishloqenergoloyiha” (OJSC “SELENERGOPROEKT”).

On July 16, 2014, in accordance with the revised Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Joint-Stock Companies and Protection of Shareholders’ Rights,” OJSC “Qishloqenergoloyiha” was renamed JSC “Qishloqenergoloyiha.”

Based on Presidential Resolution No. PP-4249 dated March 27, 2019, and Minutes No. 4 of the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders dated May 24, 2019, a modern multidisciplinary organization — JSC “O`ZENERGOINJINIRING” — was established on the basis of JSC “Qishloqenergoloyiha”.
