Position Title: Design Engineer of substation primary equipment.

Education:

  • Higher technical education (in Electrical Engineering, Energy, power engineering or related fields).
  • additional certifications and professional development courses in switching, power grid equipment, electrical safety and other related fields may be a plus.

Work Experience:

  • Experience in the design of electrical equipment and switching devices (e.g., Air insulated switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, MV and LV switchgear, etc.).
  • Experience in developing design documents and primary schematics of power facilities.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards in the field of electrical engineering and power supply.
  • Experience with a design program (e.g., AutoCAD – mandatory, EPLAN – welcomed) for the design of power facilities.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical schematics and switching devices.
  • Knowledge of the principles of operation and rules of operation of electrotechnical equipment.
  • Ability to work with project documentation (reading schemes, design of switching and distribution devices).
  • Understanding of standards, regulatory documents (EIR and others) and design rules in the field of electrical engineering, including Uzbek and international standards.
  • Skills in working with design and engineering software products (e.g. AutoCAD, EPLAN).
  • Ability to prepare reports and documentation for approval of projects with government agencies, customers and other authorities.
  • Experience in developing the explanatory note of the primary switching section for the overall project explanatory note.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Development of design documentation for electrical switchgear, transformer substations (including schematics, calculations and specifications).
  • Participation in design and development of technical specifications, including selection of equipment (circuit breakers, transformers, cables, etc.) depending on the project requirements.
  • Organizing and controlling the work of a group of engineers.
  • Advising customers, contractors and other project participants on power facility and equipment issues.
  • Reporting and participation in project approvals with governmental and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensuring the quality of design documentation and compliance of design solutions with regulatory requirements and standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience in design organizations (development of design documentation, coordination and approval of projects).
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards for design of power facilities.
  • Readiness for business trips to participate in consultations, approvals or implementation of projects at the facilities within the framework of author’s supervision of construction.
  • Knowledge of English at a technical level may be a plus for working with international projects or equipment.
  • Availability of certificates or clearances to work with high voltage installations and equipment.
