 Position Title: Design Engineer of Relay Protection and Automation systems.

Education:

  • Higher technical education (in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Automation, or related fields).
  • Additional education, specialization, or certification courses in Relay Protection and Automation (RP&A) would be a plus.

Work Experience:

  • Experience in a position such as Lead Specialist, Senior Engineer, or Chief Engineer in the field of relay protection and automation.
  • Experience in developing project documentation for RP&A systems, designing protection schemes for electrical networks and equipment.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulatory documents for designing and operating RP&A.
  • Experience in working with design documents for electrical equipment (electrical schematics, short-circuit current calculations, protection parameters).
  • Experience in automatic control systems design for energy-related objects.
  • Proficiency in using design software (e.g., AutoCAD is mandatory, EPLAN is welcomed) for designing RP&A systems.

Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of the principles and operation of relay protection and automation systems for electrical networks (including protection systems for substations, transformers, and other electrical equipment).
  • Knowledge of automatic control systems, protection systems, principles of operation, installation and commissioning of relay devices.
  • Understanding of standards, normative documents, and design rules in the field of RP&A, including both Uzbek and international standards.
  • Knowledge of the operation of microprocessor relays and modern protection devices.

Skills:

  • Ability to develop project documentation for RZ&A systems, including calculations, schematics, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in working with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN).
  • Ability to analyze existing RP&A systems and design new protection schemes.
  • Ability to prepare reports and documentation for approvals and coordination with government agencies, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing an explanatory note of the RP&A section for the general explanatory note of the project.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Developing project documentation for RP&A systems (including schematics, calculations and specifications).
  • Participating in designing and developing technical assignments for RP&A systems, including equipment selection and protection schemes.
  • Organizing and supervising the work of a team of engineers working on RP&A projects.
  • Consulting with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders regarding RP&A matters.
  • Preparing reports and participating in project approvals with regulatory bodies, clients, and other relevant parties.
  • Ensuring the quality of project documentation and compliance with regulations and standards.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in design organizations (developing project documentation, coordinating and approving projects).
  • Knowledge of normative requirements and standards for designing RP&A in the field of electrical power engineering.
  • – Readiness for business trips to participate in consultations, approvals or implementation of projects at the facilities within the framework of author’s supervision of construction.
  • English language skills at a technical level may be beneficial for working with international projects or equipment.
  • Certification or permits for working with high-voltage equipment may be required.
